White House Warns North Korea Against Arms Deal with Russia

Talks between Putin and Kim Jong Un “actively advancing.”

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan warned North Korea this week against striking an arms deal with Russia. Advisor Sullivan stated that the two countries are “actively advancing” an agreement for mutual support, and concerns have intensified due to the visit of Russia’s defense minister to North Korea in July.

Though neither country has formally announced an agreement of any kind, Russia is known for its food production and North Korea for its ammunition production. The White House believes it likely that the two nations would exchange these resources if a deal were to occur, and that Russia would use any new weapon supplies to continue its attack on Ukraine.

Advisor Sullivan said, “Providing weapons to Russia for use on the battlefield to attack grain silos and heating infrastructure of major cities as we head into winter, to try to conquer territory that belongs to another sovereign nation — this will not reflect well on North Korea, and they will pay a price for this in the international community.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For NSA Sullivan to look to the Lord for wisdom as he advises the president.
  • For U.S. officials to seek God’s direction as they respond to activities by North Korea, Russia, Iran, and China.
